CCleaner

I have been using CCleaner for quite some time to tune my systems, I have found it pretty useful and sharing some information about it with all my readers.

It is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool that removes unused, temporary files from the system.

CCleaner can be used to fine tune Windows to operate in a more efficient way. It is an excellent too that can be used to free up hard disk space safely. It cleans traces of online activities such as Internet history, browser caches etc. One of the pain points on Windows is it’s registry, CCleaner has a fully featured registry cleaner with options to backup the system registry before cleaning the registry.

One of the most efficient, lightning fast and useful utilities programs which must be present on all Windows systems.

Canon S5IS

Few months back I had posted about the CCD of my camera being faulty here. I am happy to say Canon was generous enough to give me a replacement, a Canon S5IS.

Canon has proved that customer satisfaction is there top concern.

Free Book Spot

I was searching for one particular book when one of my friends recommended this site - http://www.freebookspot.com

It is a pretty good site for free e-books providing “live links” to many interesting books in various categories.

The best feature about this site is that majority of the book links are working which is not a common observation.

Back

I am back here after quite some time. Been busy with my office work lately. Hopefully I should be able to write consistently over here now.

Youth for Seva

Today I got an email today in office regarding a social welfare organization called Youth for Seva. It was advertising about a new sponsership program called as School Kit Sponsorship.

Youth For Seva’s School Kit Sponsorship aims at providing school kits to financially challenged students at few chosen schools, slums and orphanages in Bangalore.

I gave Rs 200 towards this sponsorship and believe me it felt very good.

If anyone is interested in contributing towards this noble cause please contact me using the contact form.

Canon CCD Image Sensor Faulty

I have a Canon PowerShot S1 IS 3.2 MP Digital Camera with 10x Image Stabilized Optical Zoom which I bought a couple of years back online at Amazon. Today I showed it to one authorized service center in Bangalore and came to know that the CCD of the camera is fault and it is a manufacturing defect.

I did a bit of lookup and found out the following -

It has come to our attention that the vendor-supplied CCD image sensor used in certain Canon digital cameras and digital video camcorders may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all. While reports of this malfunction have been rare in the United States, we have determined that it may occur if the product is exposed to hot and humid environments.
